Opportunity to Testify about School Based Mental Health; DC can #DoMoreWith54

Share your stories about the importance of having mental health services available in schools!

The school mental health program is expanding and Mayor Bowser allocated $6 million for FY2020 to expand school-based mental health services. However, it is estimated that it would take $54 million to provide the supports and services needed for a trauma responsive approach to school mental health.  Parents, teachers and students know our schools need these supports now, help make sure the Council and the Mayor understand too!

The Committee on Health will hold a Budget Oversight Hearing this Friday and the Department of Behavioral Health will testify.  Members of the public wishing to testify about the performance of the Department of Behavioral Health may contact: Malcolm Cameron (mcameron@dccouncil.us) or by calling 202-654-6179 to sign up to testify BY CLOSE OF BUSINESS WEDNESDAY, MARCH 28th!
