Storytelling Workshop July 25

AJE is delighted to share this event hosted by FAMM and Free Minds Book Clubs; we know that storytelling by those close to an issue is a powerful tool in education policy and in other areas of policy work too.  We encourage families to take advantage of any opportunity to strengthen their ability to tell their own story!
FAMM (formerly Families Against Mandatory Minimums) and Free Minds Book Clubs are partnering to host a Storytelling Workshop on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. at Thurgood Marshall Academy – 2427 Martin Luther King Jr., Avenue, SE DC.
The workshop will be led by FAMM’s director of storytelling and director of organizing. It is designed to help people who have been impacted by the criminal justice system (family members of those who are incarcerated, and formerly incarcerated people), and advocates craft their stories to help shift policies, speak up at townhalls, lobby days, and more.
