WMATA Budget Proposals Public Hearing

AJE knows that many of our families and many people with disabilities are impacted by these proposals, so we want to make sure our families are aware of this upcoming budget hearing and share this information from the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority.

WMATA Budget Proposals Public Hearing – February 26th
Do you want to:
  • Pay a 25 cent surcharge for using cash instead of a SmarTrip card on the bus?
  • Have a lower cost 7-day regional bus pass?
  • Get a $2 discount instead of 50 cents when transferring between Metrobus and Metrorail?
  • Pay 25 cents more for peak fares on Metrorail?
  • Have more hours of late-night Metrorail service, but no late night and early morning trips on 12 bus routes?
If you have an opinion about any of these topics and other WMATA budget proposals that could go into effect this summer, you’re invited to express your views at the upcoming public hearing.
