INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
NOTICE TO UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
Advocates for Justice & Education
Washington D.C.

Advocates for Justice & Education (AJE) is presently seeking college interns to work in our various program areas. As an intern for AJE, you will be working with AJE staff and families on their education matters, including preparing and researching materials in the area of special education.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the production and distribution of advocacy materials.
Gather updated information related to special education laws.
Assist with administrative duties as needed.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Students enrolled in an undergraduate program for education, communications, political science, sociology, or other related fields are encouraged to apply.
Interest in education and a commitment to civil rights.
Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Computer skills, including familiarity with internet research and MS Office.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
The internships are unpaid positions. Arrangements can be made for community service, work/study or course credit. Internship schedules are flexible totaling approximately 10-16 hours per week. Interns will be expected to work between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasion weekend hours. Ideally, candidates will commit to a 2-3 month internship program.
