Effective Parent Advocacy with Ross ES PTA

Ross PTA Learning Diversity Committee is excited to announce that we are hosting a virtual speaker event “Effective Parent Advocacy,” on Monday, November 2, from 5 pm to 7 pm. Ms. Maria Blaeuer, Director of Programs and Outreach at Advocates for Justice and Education, Inc. will provide parents with information on defining advocacy, how to improve advocacy skills, and how parent advocacy can lead to systemic changes. This session will educate parents about their rights and responsibilities to be experts in advocating for their child. Ms. Blaeuer will help parents understand their power and responsibility to make educational decisions for their child according to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Sign up here
