DPR Summer Program Registration Opens on Tuesday, May 13 and Wednesday, May 14
Offerings Include Lacrosse, Tennis, Pickleball, Water Polo, Kayaking, Summer Swim League, and More
(WASHINGTON, DC) — Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) are reminding residents that registration for DPR’s 2025 summer programming will open on Tuesday, May 13 for aquatics programs and Wednesday, May 14 for all other programs. Registration opens at noon on both days. A full list of offerings is available at DPRprograms.com.
This summer’s offerings include:
- Aquatics: Summer swim league, youth water polo, senior swim team, and learn-to-swim programs
- Cultural Arts: Piano, ballet, hip-hop dance, and musical theater
- Sports & Outdoor Adventure: Cheer, tennis, kayaking, pickleball, and intro to lacrosse
Registration for summer programming is available on a first-come, first-served basis. To manage high demand, DPR will implement a virtual “waiting room” on both registration days.
DPR summer program registration opens:
- Noon on Tuesday, May 13, for aquatics programs ONLY
- Noon on Wednesday, May 14, for all other summer programs
Residents are encouraged to create an account in advance to streamline the registration process. To set up an account, visit dpr.dc.gov/DPRaccount.
DPR also offers reduced rates for qualifying DC residents. To apply for reduced rates, residents must be approved before registering. View the online application at dpr.dc.gov/ReducedRates.
Additionally, DPR recently announced the launch of in-person registration for Camp Riverview, a free, full-service summer overnight and day camp exclusively for District residents. Located in scenic Scotland, Maryland, Camp Riverview offers children and teens ages 8-13 a rare opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors for a week away from home. Registration is also now open for DPR’s Cooperative Play program, which will run from September 2025 through May 2026 at 10 DPR sites on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The DPR Cooperative Play program supports youth development for children ages 1.5 to 4 through structured play and creative experiences.
