AJE would like to share information from Safe Shores about upcoming free virtual trainings. Please see additional details about the trainings below.
On behalf of the Prevention & Outreach Team at Safe Shores – The DC Children’s Advocacy Center, we would like to thank you for engaging with us to helping keep kids safe from sexual abuse. We are excited to present three new virtual training opportunities, and an upcoming in-person Stewards of Children® training.
We invite you to join us IN-PERSON for dinner & Stewards of Children® Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Training next week!
Date: Thursday, February 26th, 2026

Dinner will be available starting at 5:15 PM and the training will begin promptly at 5:30 pm.

We also invite you to join us VIRTUALLY for NEW Child Safety Foundation Trainings from Darkness to Light! These trainings are great for all adults, but we have specified specific groups who might be interested in each training next to the training names.
From Bystander to Upstander Training (Great for ALL adults)
Go beyond theoretical knowledge and learn practical skills for protecting children. In this 1-hour evidence-informed virtual training you will learn how to be an upstander in child sexual abuse prevention and response. You will learn about boundary violations and inappropriate behaviors, and discover how you can make spontaneous and planned interventions that reinforce boundaries and protect children.

Location: ZoomConversations About Safety from Abuse Training (Great for caregivers & anyone who feels responsible for children in their life)
This 1-hour evidence-informed virtual training teaches adults to have age-appropriate, open conversations about our bodies, sex, and boundaries. In this training, you will learn ways to confidently talk with children and listen to their concerns about sexual abuse and personal safety.

Time: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Location: ZoomConsent, Healthy Touch & Boundaries (Great for youth-serving & faith-based organizations, teachers, caregivers, & other family members)
Healthy affection and touch are key in protecting children from sexual abuse, especially when it comes from parents, caregivers, and family members. This 1-hour evidence-informed training teaches guidelines for healthy touch and how to interact with children in safe and respectful ways.
