Family Focus Group Opportunity: Shaping an IPSE Program in Washington, DC

AJE would like to share an opportunity with our families to participate in a family focus group to explore the possibility of bringing an Inclusive Postsecondary Education (IPSE) program to Washington, DC.  See below for more details.

An IPSE program provides students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) the opportunity to continue their education beyond high school in a college or university setting. Currently, Washington, DC has zero IPSE programs, leaving students with IDD without local postsecondary education options.

Family insight is critical to ensuring that any future IPSE program in our nation’s capital is person-centered and reflects students’ real needs and aspirations. Through this focus group, we aim to gather meaningful input to help shape an inclusive postsecondary and campus experience for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, particularly those with moderate-to-complex support needs.

Families who complete the questionnaire will be considered for selection, and those selected to participate in the focus group will receive a $50 gift card!  The deadline for families to submit responses is April 17th.

Please see below the flyer for more information and with a QR code/link to a brief interest questionnaire for families interested in participating in the focus group.
