What Children and Youth Need for a Successful Virtual Learning Environment.

August 26th at 6:00pm

Join us for a Virtual Town Hall for community members, out-of-school time and early childhood programs.

As children and families prepare to start a virtual school year this fall, there continues to be an enormous amount of concern and anticipation about what virtual learning looks like and how parents will navigate child care as they return to work. Out-of-school time and early childcare programs play a critical role in ensuring that children are safe, supported, and provided with multiple opportunities to grow and thrive. The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed how programs will operate, but they are needed now more than ever.

What do programs need to continue to serve children and youth and what concerns do families have? DC Action for Children invites you to help us explore these questions during a Virtual Town Hall on Wednesday, August 26th from 6:00pm to 7:00 pm for community members, child care and OST programs.

We will hear from families and programs about their experiences, and their needs for the upcoming school year.  We will also be joined by DC agency officials from the Deputy Mayor of Education, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education and DC Public Schools so they can hear directly from the community and share their plans for virtual learning.
