ED Games Expo: A Showcase on Special Education – January 9th
This showcase will focus on technology innovations in special education. Participants will include more than 25 teams of special education developers, researchers, and organizations who received funding from the Department of Education (OSEP, IES/NCSER, ED/IES SBIR), the National Science Foundation, and HHS (NIDILRR); and representatives from non-profit advocacy organizations; industry partners; practitioners; and government programs who focus on special education across several agencies and offices.

The showcase will include provocative Big Idea talks on (A) new designs and research of assistive technologies and learning technologies that show promise for supporting how and when students with or at risk for disabilities can learn and how special education practitioners instruct, and (B) models for increasing access and equity to special education technology innovations, and models to facilitate the dissemination and uptake of research-based interventions in special education settings. The event will also focus on networking across a distinct group of stakeholders in the special education ecosystem.
