MySchoolDC – High School Deadline Approaching

[Feb. 1] High school application deadline is quickly approaching

The high school (Grades 9-12) deadline is Feb. 1.

Here’s what your families need to know:

  • You do have to submit a My School DC application if you seek to enroll at a DCPS selective high school or program, DCPS out-of-boundary or citywide high school, or a public charter high school.
  • You do not have to submit a My School DC application if you will re-enroll at your current school or enroll at your DCPS in-boundary high school. To find your DCPS in-boundary high school, enter your address into the School Finder and filter by “Display In-Boundary Schools Only.”

Visit the Applying to High School page to learn more. Remember that the eight DCPS selective high schools and programs require additional information on the application, so don’t wait until the last minute. All their requirements, including eligibility rubrics, can be found here.

  • FAQ: I am applying to a DCPS selective high school. Do I need to submit the actual recommendation letters with my application?
  • A: No. You only need to submit administrators’ email addresses. For example, if a selective high school requires a recommendation from a math teacher, you only need to submit the math teacher’s email address on the My School DC application.

Remember: Ranking your schools in the order you most prefer on your My School DC application matters!

The application is available in English and Spanish. Application instruction guides are available in Amharic (አማርኛ፤), French (Français), Chinese (中文), and Vietnamese (Tiếng Việt).
