The Committed Adolescents being Responsible and Empowered (CARE) Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program provides comprehensive sexuality education tor teens with special needs in the District of Columbia, and increases access to resources, contraceptive counseling and screening services.

Specifically, the CARE Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program provides teens, ages 12 through 19, with the following services and supports:

  • Sexuality Education through monthly workshops and seminars;
  • Clinical referrals to access counseling, screening and contraceptive services; and
  • Peer-to-Peer support through monthly support groups for youth to problem-solve and address issues relating to puberty, healthy relationships and personal safety.

This program also provides trainings to professionals and parents/caregivers to improve communication with youth to promote healthy sexuality.
