TONIGHT – Town Hall on Child Care Development Fund

Virtual Town Hall: Child Care Development Fund State Plan Review

AJE is proud to be part of the DC Under 3 Coalition and encourages DC families to join the Coalition’s two upcoming townhalls.

Join the DC Under 3 Coalition for town halls on May 6 at 6:30 PM (TONIGHT!) and May 15 at 2 PM to hear more about OSSE’s proposed plans for DC child care over the next three years! Early learning providers, parents, and advocates’ perspectives about this plan and your experiences are needed!  AJE especially encourages families of children with disabilities to provide input; we know childcare and aftercare are harder to find for families whose children have disabilities.  This is your chance to make sure OSSE knows that too!

The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) will update DC’s Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) State Plan this month. CCDF is the District’s primary source of federal funding for child care. This plan affects all child care programs in the District, including defining quality and licensing guidelines and requirements, child care subsidy reimbursement rates, and much more.

OSSE Assistant Superintendent Sara Mead will join us for the town halls on May 6 at 6:30 PM and May 15 at 2 PM. You will hear more about OSSE’s proposed plan, ask Assistant Superintendent Mead questions, and learn more about how you can influence the plan.
