AJE is thrilled to share this event with you from DC Act Early COVID-19 Response team!

 

Act Early DC Virtual Family Event

The event is free for DC parents and caregivers of children ages 0-5 years of age. Families will engage in a selection of workshops presented by the DC Act Early COVID-19 Response team and partner organizations to support their child’s development and self-care for themselves. The session will include a gentle yoga class and life coaching session for parents. The first 100 parents/caregivers to attend the full event and complete the event survey, will receive a $20 Amazon gift card. For questions, please contact them at info@dcautismparents.org.

Developmental Monitoring and How Parents/Caregivers Can Act Early if Needed

DC’s Act Early Ambassador, Yetta Myrick, will provide an overview of the four steps of earlyidentification: (1) parent-engaged developmental monitoring, (2) developmental and autism screening,(3) referral, and (4) receipt of early intervention services for children birth to 5. Participants will learnhow to monitor their child’s development using free developmental monitoring tools.

Join Andre Cole, Registered Yoga Teacher-200, as he leads morning meditation and breathing exercises.

Addressing Challenging Behavior 

Early Stages reviews the social-emotional foundations for early learning to help participants understandchildren’s behaviors. We provide both universal strategies and targeted interventions to addresschallenging behavior for children under 5.

Help Me Grow DC will discuss plans to incorporate partnerships, data, and strategies that encouragefathers to participate in comprehensive maternal and family health.
