Upcoming Webinar Series

Because of illness, injury, intellectual or physical disability, dementia, or the effects of aging, many of us may need temporary or long-term help when making important decisions regarding our healthcare and finances. It can be incredibly difficult to know where to seek help in tough times. Fortunately, a range of legal tools can provide additional support, guidance, and security as you navigate making your own healthcare, educational, or financial decisions, or as you support a loved one in doing the same. Whatever level of support is needed — from a little bit of help once in a while, to ongoingassistance — CCE’s upcoming webinars can help you build the decision-making confidence you deserve.

Join us for a two-part webinar series on the decision-making tools available for adults in the District of Columbia. This series is co-sponsored by The Jenny Hatch Justice Project of Quality Trust for Individuals with Disabilities (JHJP). JHJP provides free legal services to low-income District residents with disabilities who have questions about their rights to make decisions or who are facing or are in overly restrictive guardianships. During these webinars, you will learn practical information about alternatives to guardianship and legal tools such as Supported Decision-Making Agreements, Power of Attorney, and Advance Instruction for Mental Health Treatment, among others.
