DC PCSB seeking applicants for Parent and Alumni Leadership Council (PALC)

AJE knows that the parent voice matters in the policy-setting process, so we are happy to share this information from the DC PCSB. If you have questions about this application, please contact Geoffrey St. John, Community Engagement Specialist, at gstjohn@dcpcsb.org.

DC PCSB is seeking applications from charter school parents and alums interested in serving on our Parent and Alumni Leadership Council.

The Parent and Alumni Leadership Council (PALC) is an informal advisory board that advises Board Members, Executive Director, and DC PCSB leadership on policies, issues, and topics related to public charter schools.

PALC members can be parents with a student in a DC public charter school or graduates of a DC public charter school. The advisory group is a liaison between DC PCSB and the families of public charter school students and their respective schools. PALC meets monthly with Board Members and DC PCSB Leadership throughout the school year. Members live in every Ward of the City and reflect the demographics of public charter school students.

If you want to serve on PALC for a 2-year term, please complete this application HERE. Furthermore, we encourage everyone to share this opportunity with potential new members who meet the following requirements:

  • 18 years old or above
  • A DC resident
  • Either:
    • a) A current parent/caregiver of a DC public charter school student
    • b) A graduate of a public charter school in DC

If you have any questions, please contact Geoffrey St. John, Community Engagement Specialist, at gstjohn@dcpcsb.org. We look forward to receiving your application and welcoming new members into our PALC family.
