Upcoming Opportunities to Access Civil Legal Services

AJE is happy to share these upcoming events with our community.

Bankruptcy

The D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center is pleased to announce that in collaboration with the Bankruptcy Section of the National Bar Association and after several months of strategic planning, we are launching a Bankruptcy Resource Center Pilot Project specifically designed to address the needs of pro se chapter 7 bankruptcy filers in the District of Columbia. The virtual clinic will be held twice monthly and the only requirements for meeting with a lawyer are an active chapter 7 case filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Columbia and an unrepresented debtor. Our volunteer attorneys will meet with individuals during pre-scheduled appointments to assist with Show Cause Orders, filing deficiencies, and to answer general questions.

Our upcoming clinics will be virtually held:

  • 11/17/2023
  • 12/01/2023
  • 12/15/2023
  • 1/19/2024
  • 2/02/2024
  • 2/16/2024

Prospective clients can scan the QR Code on the attached flyer or call 202-828-3385 for a pre-screening. Individuals do not have to fall within a particular income level to utilize this free service.  BRC_Flyer
