Join the Renters Club
Do you support people who need or are looking for a new place to live? If renting is a viable option for them, have them join the DDS Virtual Renters Club (VRC).
The VRC is a five-week group workshop that prepares people with disabilities for rental housing in DC.
Participants will learn what’s required to rent and receive assistance with searching and applying for apartments. The Greater Washington Urban League (GWUL) will host a credit workshop and provide free tri-merge credit reports for attendees–typically a cost of $50. Registration is required.
Hybrid Format: In-person at DDS, 250 E St., SW or Online
Time: 12 – 1 pm
Dates: February 6, 13, 20, and 26, and March 6 (all Wednesdays)
After attending all workshop sessions, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion in Rent Readiness and a personalized Housing Action Plan (HAP). For more information, contact DDS Housing Coordinator Pamela Johnson at pamela.johnson1@dc.gov.
