OST Summer Scholarship Applications Opened March 17, 2025!

In partnership with the Greater Washington Community Foundation, the OST Office provides scholarship funding to help students and their families – especially those with specific needs – access fee-based programs they need to strengthen their education, health, and well-being outside of school.

Applications opened March 17, 2025 and are accepted on a rolling basis. Applications must be submitted online. Learn more here.

BEST Kids 13th Annual Superhero 5k & Fun Run!

 BEST Kids is excited to announce that it will be hosting its 13th Annual Superhero 5K & Fun Run on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, at Fort Hunt Park in Alexandria, VA. This event is dedicated to breaking the negative cycles that many DC foster and at-risk youth experience and providing the community with ways to help our youth and their families succeed and thrive.

4th Annual 5k Run/Walk for Education Justice Supports Students in the Care of DC!

The Petey Greene Program, on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, at 1:00 PM EST for their 4th Annual 5K Run/Walk for Education Justice at Lake Artemesia in College Park, MD! This is a family-friendly run/walk with strollers and young runners are welcome as well as leashed furry friends at no additional cost. With every step taken, you can demonstrate that everyone deserves a chance, that you cannot discount anyone, and that we are responsible for each other. Learn more or register here.

Spectrum of Talent: A Celebration of Autism Awareness

Time: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Venue: DPR – Joy Evans Therapeutic Recreation Center

A vibrant one-day celebration spotlighting vendors, entrepreneurs, and professionals on the autism spectrum. This event will promote inclusivity, raise awareness, and support autistic individuals by showcasing their talents and contributions across various fields within the city of Washington, D.C. in area specific to wellness, environmental and conservation education and causes.
