AJE is excited to partner with Bright Beginnings for The Grill Master Dad: Best Barbecue Buddy Celebration, a Father’s Day family engagement and wellness event honoring fathers, male caregivers, grandfathers, father figures, and the children and community who love them!

Join us on Thursday, June 18, from 3:00–6:00 PM at Anacostia Park for an afternoon of food, fun, family connection, and wellness-centered activities. This community celebration will bring families together for hamburgers, hot dogs, music, games, photos, and hands-on activities designed to help dads and children create lasting memories.

The event will include arts and crafts, life-size games, and opportunities for fathers and caregivers to connect in a relaxed outdoor setting. AJE and Bright Beginnings will also offer wellness-focused programming, including a Brotherhood Walk, informal conversations around mental health and self-care, distribution of AJE mutual aid distribution, and other resources to support father-child engagement, including activities and connections with children with disabilities and special health care needs.
