News from OSSE -applications now open for Superintendent’s Advisory Councils (SACs)

AJE knows that when parents and caregivers are at the table, schools work better for students.  That is why we are excited to share the following announcement from OSSE.

OSSE is proud to annually convene teachers, school leaders, parents, and family members to participate in the Superintendent’s Advisory Councils (SACs). The Councils are comprised of a diverse group of educators, school leaders, parents, and family members from across the city who reflect the demographics of the District’s students. These individuals meet regularly with OSSE leadership and staff to provide insights and ask questions about OSSE programs and policies.

Applications for the 2026-27 school year are open through Aug. 30, 2026.

For questions, please reach out to Rachelle (Rey) Yombo, Special Assistant for Teaching and Learning, at Rachelle.Yombo1@dc.gov.
